Come To School With Your Child Day!

Dear Families,

It's that wonderful time of year again! The time when you get to come spend 30 minutes in our room with your child. Your child will show you their work and you'll get to see the basic hub and flow of a Montessori classroom!

Please remember that we respect the process of each concept and that we do not teach the way you learned. Most of our materials are self correcting and discovering one's own mistakes is part of the learning process. Please help by not correcting your childs work. If you believe they are doing something incorrectly or have questions about anything feel free to discuss it with me after your visit.

Because I will be teaching lessons or doing reading assessments during this time I will be unable to visit with you on a individual basis. And will most likely NOT call your child to an individual or group lesson while you are there. I would really like this to be a celebration of your child and his/her work. Trust me you and your child will want to take the entire 30 minutes to be together.

It is extremely important to use your whispers in the room. Please be aware of your voice level. You will probably still be a distraction and that's okay. I hope you make some new friends! But also feel free to tell any children who are excessively friendly that you are spending some special time with your child and that you would love to talk to them at another time.
