Performance Conversations & Feedback Session

Hosted by dzajchowski@rollins.edu

These sessions are designed for evaluation managers. Edwin Mouriño, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Business & Social Entrepreneurship will facilitate these sessions. All training sessions will be hosted in the Faculty Club.

Continuous feedback of employee performance is an important aspect of a manager’s job. The purposes of the annual performance evaluation process are to promote communication and provide useful feedback about job performance, to facilitate better working relationships, to provide a record of performance and to contribute to professional development. When used effectively, feedback can be a powerful tool in facilitating the annual performance review discussion and in helping employees achieve at their highest potential. Managers can improve their effectiveness by learning how to provide useful feedback to enhance their employee’s performance. To facilitate communication, it is important that managers and employees prepare for the review period. These sessions will be interactive and by the end participants will:

1. Learn about the present state of performance management
2. Identify issues that are working and not for them as evaluation managers when it comes to performance discussions
3. Work through some role-plays on dealing with a difficult performance discussions
4. Gain take-aways to be successful in working through performance management discussions with your staff members
