2026 October SHIFA Health Fairs

Hi all,

SHIFA Health Fairs is looking for student volunteers for 3 upcoming health fairs next month. During these events, we will be providing blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, and A1C testing. This is a great opportunity to practice your basic clinical skills while helping improve access to care for communities within the Greater Seattle area.

#1: Oceania Health Fair at Pasifika Island Market
Date: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
Time: 1PM-5PM (orientation will be at 12:30pm for all volunteers)
Location: 1158 Industry Drive, Building 42, Tukwila WA 98188

#2: South King County Family Health Fair
Date: Saturday, October 17th
Time: 10:00am to 2:00pm (orientation will be at 9am for all volunteers)
Location: Auburn Valley YMCA (1620 Perimeter Rd, Auburn WA 98001)

#3: Ethiopian Community in Seattle Annual Health Fair
Date: Saturday, October 24th
Time: 10:00am to 2:00pm (orientation will be at 9:30am for all volunteers)
Location: Ethiopian Community in Seattle (ECS) Meeting Hall (8323 Rainier Ave S, Suite A, Seattle, WA 98118)

I will be visiting the Seattle area in October and came across the SHIFA Health Fair volunteer opportunity on October 17. PR Pranjali · Hi! My name is Pranjali Sukhadiya. I am an internationally trained dentist (BDS) currently preparing to apply to U.S. dental schools. I am very interested in volunteering at the October 17 SHIFA Health Fair and contributing to community health screening and outreach. I understand that the listed roles are primarily for medical students, so I wanted to ask whether there is an appropriate volunteer role for an internationally trained dentist who is not currently enrolled in a U.S. medical/dental school. I would be happy to help with any non-clinical or supervised community-health activities that are appropriate. Thank you for considering me!
