UCF Contemporary A Cappella - 2015 Fall Rush

Welcome to Contemporary A Cappella's 2015 Fall Rush!

Be sure to read through everything - you don't want to miss an important piece of information by skimming! We'll be changing it up this year by having our very first Fall Rush - a week of joint-auditions followed by a two days of back-to-back callbacks.

We're kicking it off on Sunday the 30th with Aca 101 - an event hosted by several veteran members of CAC! While we are made up of six unique a cappella groups, we all come together to form Contemporary A Cappella. Be sure to come out to meet some of our members, learn how to get involved a cappella and get some tips on how to really ace your audition!

There is still a lot of time before the Fall Rush so information at this time is still tentative! If there are changes made we'll be sure to email you ahead of time, and we'll send out reminders as the auditions get closer. Also be sure to follow CAC on FB at facebook.com/UCFACappella!

*The Audition*

As a better way to make the audition process smoother for all groups as well as all auditionees we have decided to separate the audition dates according to gender. Guys interested in auditioning will audition on Mon, Sat & Sun while ladies will audition on Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun and Tue.

Each audition will be observed by a panel of no more than two members (usually music directors) from each group. Auditions will consist of a verse and a chorus (about a minute to a minute and a half of material) of any song that you think displays your voice the best. Sight reading, a range test, and a short interview portion may also be part of the audition process.

The locations for auditions will be announced as soon as they are known!

If slots fill up and you find yourself unable to make the times left, please sign up under the slot labeled "walk-ins" on the day that you plan to audition. Show up anytime during that day, and we'll make sure you get the chance to audition. However, you may have to wait until after everyone who was previously signed up has already gone. Remember, walk-ins are still gender specific (guys should come Monday & Saturday, while ladies should come Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or the following Tuesday). Sunday is an open day for everyone!
