SPARC Day of Community 2014

This year Rollins SPARC Day of Community (Service, Passion, Activism, Rollins College) will be held on Saturday, August 23rd and we would LOVE for you and your department to be involved this year with the Class of 2018! Deeply embedded in the mission of Rollins College: to educate for global citizenship and responsible leadership, SPARC was created in 2006 to introduce our newest Rollins students to the Central Florida community in a day of learning, community service and activism. Students are purposefully placed with community agencies based on their RCC course and inseparable from curricular content, objectives and goals, sparking: community partner/faculty relationship, shared goals, outcomes and learning agreement and a heightened curiosity, both intellectually and action-driven, in continued engagement. As members of the Rollins Team, we hope that are able to contribute some time, and serve as a volunteer during SPARC. Below, I have listed the time slots when we need volunteers.

7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (Very Important): Set-up, Snack Allocation, Bus Coordination, and Student/RCC Class Placement

8:00-1:45: p.m. Site Visits-Serve as on-site staff at community agencies, meet new students, and be a part of serving.

12:45-2:45 p.m.: (Very Important): Clean-up, Supply Collection, Support Staff(clean-up)
