BTG's 'Godspell 2012' Audition Sign-Ups - Age 18+

Please sign up for one (1) time slot and date only. WALK-INS ARE WELCOME, EVEN IF ALL SLOTS ARE FULL!

All auditions and callbacks are held at the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy, 2153 W. 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60643

Auditionees, please prepare 32 bars of music appropriate to the show, but not necessarily from 'Godspell 2012'. Sheet music is preferred. Digital tracks are also acceptable; however, you may be asked to perform a pitch check with our accompanist. No acapella singing allowed. THIS WILL BE A SINGING AND DANCING AUDITION. Please be prepared to dance with proper dance attire. Auditionees with special skills such as those who play a musical instrument, juggle, acrobatics, etc. are encouraged to audition.

Arrival Time:
We kindly ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time to complete an audition form before your audition begins. Please plan on staying for approximately two (2) hours.
***Be prepared to list your scheduling conflicts on the audition form. Conflicts will not be accepted AFTER the show has been cast. We cannot cast those with multiple conflicts, or conflicts during Tech Week or on performance dates.***

Parking and Entrance:
Please park in the rear lot. Enter off 112th and Bell. Enter Morgan Park Academy using the south doors.

Rehearsals:
Beginning Sunday, March 3rd
Sundays: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Friday, May 3, 2024
Saturday, May 4, 2024
Sunday, May 5, 2024

Tech Week runs Sunday, April 28th-May 2nd. The Tech Week schedule is TBA.

Callbacks:
Callbacks will be held on Wednesday February 28th beginning at 6:30 PM. If you are called back, you will receive an email, text, or telephone call (or a combination of any of these three notification methods), either late Tuesday night or Wednesday. You will be assigned a time to return to the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy on Wednesday, beginning at 6:30 PM. If you are unavailabe at this time, please notify Producers, Tony or Rick, via email immediately, and they will reschedule you. Not receiving a callback does not necessarily mean you have not been cast in the show. Sometimes, it simply means the Director does not need to see you again to make a decision.

Synopsis:
A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
