Dear Central Florida Non-Profit Partners

I write to you as champions and partners of community engagement. I’d like to invite you to a special professional development opportunity we are having at Rollins. During the week of February 6 – 10, Dr. Richard Guarasci will be a visiting scholar in residence. Dr. Richard Guarasci is a national leader in democratic education and civic engagement. He is the author of Neighborhood Democracy: Building Anchor Partnerships Between Colleges and Their Communities ( 2022) and Democratic Education in An Age of Difference (1997). He has published many articles and chapters on diversity, democracy and civic engagement. Dr.Guarasci served as the 18th and longest serving President of Wagner College on Staten Island in New York City. He authored The Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts, it’s hallmark undergraduate curriculum required of all Wagner students when he served as Wagner’s Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Our President, Grant Cornwell, asked me to invite you to join us at Rollins to engage in a meal and conversation with Dr. Guarasci. I recognize that this is short notice, but we’d love to have you if you can join us on Wednesday, February 8th from 8:30-10:00am.
