Service Excellence Book Club - "All In: How the Best Managers Create a Culture of Belief and Drive Big Results"

Hosted by dzajchowski@rollins.edu

You are invited to join the quarterly Rollins College Service Excellence Book Club meeting! The Service Excellence Book Club is an inclusion leadership and service excellence learning program involving staff, faculty and students who come together to discuss, respond, react, and apply lessons learned from a current leadership text. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch to the sessions.

All members of the campus community are invited to read "All In: How the Best Managers Create a Culture of Belief and Drive Big Results" by Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton and participate in a conversation about how this applies to our work at the College.

We will host two (2) meetings in October to meet and discuss the book (both meetings will be the same and you do not need to attend both meetings). The meetings will be facilitated by:

• Susan Bach, Executive Director Center for Leadership Development, Crummer Graduate School of Business
• David Zajchowski, Assistant Director HR, Talent Programs

Space is limited and interested people will be required to sign-up below and acknowledge that they will obtain a copy of the book, read it and attend the book club meeting. Additional offerings of this workshop may be scheduled if needed in accordance with demand.

We look forward to seeing you there!

ABOUT THE BOOK & AUTHOR

To have any hope of succeeding as a manager, you need to get your people all in. Whether you manage the smallest of teams or a multi-continent organization, you are the owner of a work culture—congratulations—and few things will have a bigger impact on your performance than getting your people to buy into your ideas and your cause and to believe what they do matters.

Teaming up with research giant Towers Watson, authors Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton present an unprecedented 300,000-person study conducted during the worst of this recession. The data reveals that today’s high-performance organizations have a distinctive kind of culture in which employees believe in their leaders and the company’s mission, values, and goals. These employees are not only engaged, but also enabled and energized, which leads to astonishing results. Based on this breakthrough research and their extensive consulting experience with the who’s-who of successful companies, they present a simple 7-step road map that all managers can follow to create a high-achieving culture within their own teams
