Beverly Arts Center's Youth Theatre Company is pleased to announce auditions for their Teen production of Legally Blonde, Jr.!

YTC: Legally Blonde, Jr.
Ages: 13-19 (*12 year olds admitted on case-by-case basis, please email first)

Auditions: Monday, March 2nd & Tuesday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00pm
Callbacks: Wednesday, March 4th, All Call for Dance from 5:00-6:00pm (Dance),
Selected Singing & Acting Callbacks from 6:00-8:00pm

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals (beginning March 9th): Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00pm
(not every actor will be called to every rehearsal)
There may be additional rehearsals for Tech Week, May 7th-13th.

Performances: Thursday, May 14 & Friday, May 15 @ 7:30pm,
Saturday, May 16 & Sunday, May 17 @ 3:00pm

About the Show:
Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde The Musical Jr. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. Option 2: Actor’s Choice
If actors wish to sing a different song, they can choose 32 bars (or approximately 1 minute) of material. If actors are singing their own song, they must bring their own backing track, speaker, or be prepared to sing a capella.

Sides: At their initial auditions, actors may be asked to cold-read scenes from the script.

Auditions will take place on Monday, March 2nd & Tuesday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00pm. Actors can choose one time slot on either the 2nd or 3rd.

Callbacks: All actors should be prepared to attend a dance call from 5:00-6:00pm on Wednesday, March 4th.
Selected actors may be asked to stay from 6:00-8:00pm to read scenes or learn additional songs from the show.

All actors who are registered for the production will be cast. Callbacks do not reflect final casting.

Note: All actors will be considered for all roles. Character descriptions involving age, appearance, gender identity, etc. are based on the characters as written in the script, not the actors who will play them. Actors are encouraged to indicate their interest in any of the following characters on their audition forms and should not feel restricted in what they choose.
