Lazarus Family Mentorship Training

Have you been discerning your calling and attracted to the Lazarus Ministry but want a different way to contribute?

Perhaps, mentoring parents whom we help with housing support is for you. We are setting up training to be provided training utilizing the Compass Catholic Ministries led by Jon Bean who developed the program and led programs training hundreds of people over decades of training sessions. We will offer training of mentors based on Compass Catholic Ministries that involves 10 weekly sessions at St Margaret Mary Church starting (date).

Mentorship is "walking beside" the heads of households to whom SMM provides funds to help move them from hotels. Mentors offer perspectives based on training and their own experiences to help overcome the challenges the families face. The parents are to lead the development of family goals on the path to sustaining a better future, make plans to achieve their goals, and measure their progress.

Mentors are to help give perspective, solve problems as they confront them, and offer support on the journey. This is not a program for those who have preconceived ideas of the nature of economically challenged families as each situation is unique.
