SP’ 22 January Blood Drive (1/25) Sign Up

Hi everybody!

Welcome back to Cal! We hope you are having a great start to the semester and are staying safe and healthy. The January Blood Drive is coming up! We know that it is still a difficult time right now, but we hope that there are still people who are able to help with our blood drive this month. If you are comfortable and able to volunteer, please consider helping out!

To reduce the number of people during the actual drive, the American Red Cross only need four volunteers per shift: two to help with registration, one person to canteen, and one to wipe down stations/seats to maintain sanitary quality. Additionally, if possible, please sign up for two shifts in a row (2 hours total) to reduce the number of people transitioning in and out of the blood drive.

We are super excited to announce that the drives will be coming back on campus to MLK Student Union Bldg. – E. Pauley Ballroom (2495 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94720). If you are in the Berkeley area and have time to help out, please do!! Each hour counts towards your general member requirement and will be logged in Volunteer Connection.

The staff will be taking extra precautionary measures by wiping down the beds and stations after each donor while maintaining the 6ft distancing. On the day of the drive, anyone with a temperature of over 99.6 will be asked not to donate. All volunteers will be asked to wear a mask and volunteers helping with temperature checks will be required to change gloves between donors (gloves will be available).
