Saturday Serve: Mustard Seed

Who: ​The mission of The Mustard Seed of Central Florida is to help rebuild the lives of families and individuals who have suffered a disaster or personal tragedy by providing household furnishings and clothing while being environmentally responsible to our community.

When:​ ​Saturday, August 31st, from 8:00 am to 12:45 pm

What: ​12 to 20 students (Max:70) serve at Mustard Seed with inventory (and bring donated new socks and underwear). Transportation via JUMP bus 1.

Where: ​12 Mustard Seed Ln, Orlando, FL 32810

Why: Introduce students to a culture of community engagement, global citizenship, and responsible leadership. As well as engage students in new relationships within the Rollins community. As well as learn the vision and mission of the community organization and the imminent needs of the community.

Important Information:

Transportation is provided

Volunteers may wear shorts that hit mid-thigh or lower, as well as a t-shirt, and closed-toed shoes, with a preference for sneakers/tennis shoes​. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a bottle of water with them(there is a water cooler on site for them to refill).​ Please note that the facility is not climate controlled, so should you need to be accommodated for this, let us know in advance so that someone can prepare an office project for you.

Additionally, many families in our community are struggling to provide the basics to their children, down to providing them with socks and underwear. ​Volunteers who bring in a new package of socks and underwear for the families they serve will impact the lives of children in our community​. Ask for separate flyer indicating items if interested.
