2023 Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition - Bailiffs - Regional 1

Hosted by thomastangmootcourt@gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration in serving as a bailiff for the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition! The Competition is an appellate advocacy competition sponsored by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Law Foundation.

This year’s competition will be a hybrid competition, with regional oral arguments occurring virtually on October 13 and October 14, and the National Competition coinciding with the 2023 NAPABA Convention in Indianapolis on November 10-11.

The bailiff's role is to call the Court to order, maintain decorum in the courtroom, keep track of time during the hearing, serve as a liaison between the judges, competitors, and competition staff, and ensure that participating teams observe the rules of the competition. Additionally, the bailiff will be able to observe and learn from competitors and network with judges and attorneys.

You are welcome to serve as a bailiff for as many rounds as you wish. We will send you an email with further instructions and a competition staff member will meet with you to review instructions and answer any questions.

If you must cancel your commitment, please email us at thetangmootcourt@gmail.com as soon as possible.

We also invite you to consider signing up as an alternate bailiff if your preferred time slot is full. If there is a cancellation, a TTMC staff member will contact you.

If your school offers credit for volunteering, please feel free to put your school after your name so we can accurately track your hours.

For additional information regarding the Competition, please go to https://www.napabalawfoundation.org/ttmc/

Thank you for your time and service to the Competition!
