ABOUT THE PLAY:
A wild road trip through our American landscape—in a play made as one of America's greatest artists, Robert Rauschenberg, might have conceived it if he had been a playwright instead of a painter: a collage of people and places and music and dancing, of love stories and picnics and business schemes and shootings and chicken jokes and golfing, and of the sheer exhilaration of living in a country where people make up their lives as they go.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
This is a live production, playing to an empty house, for online streaming. Many rehearsals will be held online, but there will be in-person rehearsals as well. In fact, closer to the production we will resume “normal” theatrical mode, including tech week. We will honor social distancing and mask wearing as best we can.

CASTING:
Casting a dynamic and diverse ensemble of 10 creative performers—students and non-students, alumni, faculty and staff, novices and veterans. Versatile performers with comic and dramatic sensibilities, a love for storytelling, and a penchant for the surreal are highly encouraged to audition. While this is not a musical, performers must be able to move well and “sell” a tune with confidence.

One role is a non-speaking roller skater.

This is a non-paying production.

PREPARATION:
Auditioners will be sent a short text from the show to perform.

SCHEDULE AN AUDITION:
Follow the below FOUR steps:

1. Click "JOIN" on your desired date and time. Auditioners will be seen individually for 15 minutes.
2. Enter your FIRST and LAST name.
3. Enter your e-mail address.
4. Click "JOIN".

Once completed, you should receive a confirmation e-mail with a link and instructions on how to cancel your slot if necessary. Please save this e-mail in case you need to cancel or switch time slots. If you are unable to make the audition, please cancel as soon as possible to free up the slot for someone else.

Prior to your audition date you'll receive a document via email to COMPLETE and RETURN before your audition begins.

First round of auditions will be held via Zoom. Callbacks will be held in-person at Governors State University on Saturday, February 6, 2021. This will include a dance audition, so dress comfortably.
