Evening Campus Friends -

As we approach the upcoming presidential election in November, the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement is spearheading an initiative aimed at strengthening civic engagement and voter readiness across campus. In these pivotal times, it is more important than ever to ensure that our students, faculty, and staff are not only informed about their civic duties but are also fully prepared and motivated to participate in the democratic process.

To this end, we are proposing the formation of a campus-wide Coalition for Civic Participation, a collaborative effort that will bring together faculty, staff, and students across the College in a united effort to increase touchpoints with students and encourage their active involvement in the upcoming election. This may take the form of workshops, voter registration drives, social media campaigns, tips and tricks for inside the classroom, and ideally the development of a programs and events schedules focused on better preparing the campus in regard to civic mindedness.

We believe that by joining forces, we can create a more impactful and wide-reaching campaign that not only educates about the importance of voting but also equips our community with the necessary tools and information to make each voice feel heard. We are reaching out across campus to invite YOU to be a part of this crucial initiative. We would like to invite you to an interest meeting where we can discuss potential collaboration opportunities and brainstorm strategies to engage our campus most effectively. We value unique perspectives and values and believe that this is an invaluable component in creating this coalition. Together, we can foster a campus culture that prioritizes civic engagement and empowers all members of our community to be active participants in democracy.
