UDSM Street Outreach, Friday 06/03/2022, 5-7 PM

Project Description: Street Outreach is an effort to bridge the gaps in healthcare access by meeting homeless individuals where they reside, on the streets of the U-district. Volunteers perform activities such as health assessment, motivational interviewing, vital sign acquisition, resource referral, chemical dependency counseling, and passing out essential living items with the goal of helping those in need and establishing a connection with local-area homeless individuals.

Location: Service location covers specific street zones and community sites within the University District, Seattle, including the University Way and ROOTS Young Adult Shelter. Meet at the University Heights east entrance stairs (facing University Way). The community center is located at 5031 University Way. Parking is available in the parking lot visible from University Way. From the parking lot, walk towards the building (there will be some construction on your left) to the left side of the building.

How to prepare: You will be outdoors so please wear weather-appropriate, casual, non-provocative clothing, comfortable shoes and refrain from wearing flashy items like expensive jewelry.
