SPARC Day Volunteers 2022!

This year Rollins celebrates our 17th anniversary of SPARC Day (Service, Passion, Action, Rollins College), which will be held on Saturday, August 20th. Embedded in the mission of Rollins College (to educate for global citizenship and responsible leadership for meaningful lives and productive careers), SPARC was created in 2006 to introduce our newest Rollins students to the community in a day of learning, community service, and action.

SPARC Day is an incredible component of Orientation; one which allows RCC Classes to build thoughtful relationships with students. The day also serves to create a sense of belonging both on and off-campus as well as to initiate that “spark” to find their passions and purpose.

This year will focus on service, community building, and the educational foundation of the liberal arts ethos. The day will offer each incoming student the opportunity to engage on-campus with an ongoing and local non-profit – U.S. Hunger Project, experience Winter Park through a community tour, and an opportunity for critical thinking through intentional reflection upon return to campus.

We deeply appreciate your ongoing commitment to leadership and community engagement. We believe that while the impact will look different, this shift will still meet the same goals of SPARC Day.

Below are the time slots when volunteers are needed. All volunteers will be asked to sign-up for a training prior to SPARC Day. Volunteers can pick between Monday, 8/15 (12-1pm), Wednesday, 8/17 (4-5pm), or Friday, 8/19 (1-2) pm. Trainings will be held remotely.

**Bonner Leaders and InnovaTARS - please sign-up for either the 1) Support U.S. Project Assembly Line Service-Project or 2) Support Community Tour - You will be partnered with an RCC Class.** Although these are open to everyone.
