Support for Judy

Dear Friends,

1/12/2021 - Judy gained a lot of strength over the last few weeks and her scans are clear!! This is great news. She is now receiving chemotherapy. I've updated the meal and visit requests. (The white blocks keep you from signing up so her fridge doesn’t get too full). There is a line for every calendar day because Judy loves visits. In addition to in person visits (limited by COVID precautions) she is now appreciating FaceTime visits. Judy has consistently and frequently gotten negative Covid tests. We must all take precautions to keep ourselves and loved ones as safe as possible. Judy is a very social person and is finding isolation to be very hard. Her physical activity is back normal in some ways. It’s not clear how the treatment will affect that. But for now she’s eager to go for long walks with Jasper and friends. Or you could visit in her little yard.

Her address is 1379 Hampel Street #2. Please text her if you are bringing something. 510-459-5958. You can drop it at the back door (on Ardley) and maybe even say hello, masked and distanced. If you’re not in the area you can give a gift certificate through grub hub or something similar.

Thank you for all the loving care you have given. She also has a caring bridge site if you’d like to read her updates and to post well wishes

Judy especially likes when you make her a casserole/salad-type thing based on orzo or farro or quinoa or pasta with your special ingredients. See the list below for things not to put in. Judy is a pescatarian, but chicken is OK if it's organic.

Likes - Pasta, matzoh ball soup, Asian food, wild salmon, salads, avocado, quinoa, tofu, orzo, lentils, farro (or salads of any of the above), strawberry-rhubarb pie or other fruit pies/cobblers; Banana Blossom Thai, Neecha Thai, Japanese food, Chinese ok too; Rico Rico Taco (Lakeshore Ave)

Won't eat - Anchovies, spicy food, ginger, cloves, chili, tomato soup, baby corn, blue cheese, goat cheese, (feta cheese is ok, though), asparagus, canteloupe, probably more stuff.
