Othello Clinic at Emerald City 2025-2026

The Othello Clinic at Emerald City is a screen and refer UW SHIFA clinic in partnership with Mercy Housing Northwest. The clinic serves residents of Mercy Housing's Emerald City affordable housing complex as well as members of the broader Somali and south Seattle community. Our goal is that the clinic will facilitate mutual education between students, preceptors, and members of the Somali and greater South Seattle community.

Pre-clinical and clinical students will see walk-in clients to provide basic health screening services (blood pressure, blood glucose testing, and A1C once volunteers have been trained). Other UW students will be present in the capacity of referral coordinators to set up clients with primary care or specialty care appointments and ensure follow-up as needed.
