“On Purpose” Collaboration Workshop (copy)

Hosted by dzajchowski@rollins.edu

In keeping with our commitment to maintain a collaborative working and learning community, the Service Excellence Team is pleased to sponsor this interactive workshop hosted by Robert K. Prescott, Ph.D., SPHR.

Rollins’ adoption of our service standards has helped to delineate what we consider to be important as we engage in our work and with each other, as colleagues, to inspire purposeful lives through distinctive, engaged learning and the exceptional service experience we provide for our students and customers. Included among these core standards is the standard of collaborative behavior. As an institution of higher learning, it is incumbent upon every member of the Rollins community to create and maintain a collaborative atmosphere that is conducive for learning and working. This workshop is intended to help participants develop the knowledge and skills to take meaningful action creating and benefiting from “on purpose” collaboration.

In this session participants will learn:

• how collaboration is the deliberate, positive outcome of effective communications
• what gets in the way of true collaboration taking place
• how to build and follow through on your collaborative efforts
• what are the benefits to you and others in seeking collaborative solutions to challenges

*****UPDATE 3/30/2012 @ 2:57PM*****: This workshop is limited to 45 participants and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register early as the workshop is expected to fill quickly. Additional offerings of this workshop will be scheduled if needed in accordance with demand.

The Rollins Service Excellence STARSS Program is an ongoing series of workshops, discussion forums, speakers, and events intended to foster dialogue, interaction, professional development and community building around Rollins’ four service standards:

• Responsive
• Respectful
• Collaborative
• Competent

Four forums will be held during the academic year, one on each of our four service standards. For more information, please visit the Service Excellence web page at http://r-net.rollins.edu/service/index.html.

Please come and take part in this interactive workshop. We look forward to seeing you there!
