    Important Note: The District has been cleared by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), to begin on campus small group or “cohort” instruction. All students that are auditioning for a speaking role, should plan to transition (at some point) to on-campus rehearsal. CDPH revised its guidance to permit singing and theater programs, if the following precautions can be taken:
    ● Practice is held outside;
    ● Masks are worn to the maximum extent possible;
    ● Physical distancing is strictly enforced, with distances of six feet “strongly
    recommended”; and
    ● Students, parents, and staff members are aware (or made aware) of the increased infection risks of singing and/or band practice.

    Please sign up for one time slot to audition for Frozen the Musical. Please sign in with Student Name, Grade, and whether you are auditioning for Ensemble or a Speaking Role.

    Example: Tara Aderman, Kinder (Ensemble)

    Students should log into Zoom five minutes before their audition time.

    K – 2nd graders may only audition for Ensemble.
    K – 5th Grade Ensemble/Chorus Auditions: Student auditions entail singing a well rehearsed thirty second song acapella.

    3rd – 5th Grade Auditions for a Speaking Role: Student should review and prepare from the script provided and sing a well rehearsed thirty second song acapella (no music). * Script will be posted by 12/10.

    Before the Auditions: Please assure your Wildcats that auditions are just part of the theater process and it gives the production team a chance to see each one of them perform individually.

    During the Auditions: We will ask them to say their name, grade, and what role they are auditoning for. We will then ask them to sing (and read their lines if auditioning for a speaking role).

    Students auditioning for a speaking role do NOT need to memorize their lines. Copies of the scripts/monologues will be posted on the school website.
    Before the Cast List is Posted:
    Please prepare them for the possibility they may not get the role they want and convey to them that every role is critical to the performance. You can explain that everyone gets a turn to shine. "Sometimes it is someone else's turn, and next time it could be yours." Please encourage them to be congratulatory toward others.

    Thank you and "Break a Leg"
