UCF A Cappella - Fall Auditions 2022

CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS!

The Contemporary A Cappella Society at UCF is holding auditions for our 5 groups this Fall! We encourage anyone who loves to sing to try out and audition!

As soon as we get our audition rooms we will post them here. Please bear with us as room reservations can be sent last minute from SGA.

AUDITION ROOMS: (Updated 09/16/22 4:51PM)
Because UCF didn't return our room reservation requests, we may be hopping rooms throughout each night. We'll keep this page and our social media updated. We usually try to find a room in NSC or VAB.

If slots fill up and you find yourself unable to make the times left, please sign up under the slot labeled "walk-ins" on the day that you plan to audition. Show up anytime during that day, and we'll make sure you get the chance to audition. However, you may have to wait until after everyone who was previously signed up has already gone. Should there be a crazy volume of auditions, we will add another day, or feel free to sign up to submit a virtual audition!

AUDITION PROCESS (keep in mind that audition days are gender-specific on for Wednesday 9/14 and Thursday 9/15!)

Auditions will be about 10 minutes long, and will consist of the following:

Range Check
Sight-Reading (Optional)
Call & Response Pitch Accuracy Exercise
Vocal Percussion (Optional) - Call & Response or Freestyle
Prepared Piece - Verse and chorus of Contemporary/Pop song, or whatever shows off your range and style. (Try to keep it under one minute!)

VIRTUAL AUDITIONS
*Note: If you have already signed up to do an in-person audition, and would like to submit a virtual audition, please cancel your current reservation time and sign up separately for a virtual time slot.*

Whenever you sign up for virtual auditions, we send you an email with full instructions and a link to a Google form where you can fill out your information and upload your audition video.

Virtual auditions will follow the same format as in-person, with a range test, a call and response pitch accuracy test, and an excerpt from a song of your choice.

Virtual auditions will close September 16th at 10pm. Any auditions submitted after that will not be accepted.
