Soc 190 Presentation Sign-Ups

IMPORTANT: When you sign up please specify which reading you will be presenting, e.g. Alice Chen (How the machine thinks). There should only be one presenter per reading. Do NOT present on any of the texts from "Discovering Qualitative Methods"

Every student in the class will be required to sign up to present one of the week’s readings over the course of the seminar. Synopses should be a minimum of 3 minutes and not go over five minutes. Students should focus on (a) summarizing the main arguments of the text, (b) explaining what sort of evidence was used to justify the argument, and (c) their own personal take on how this reading relates to the class. I encourage students to come to office hours to discuss the reading if they are unsure of any of those three pieces.
