10/17/2016 Teeth & Toes Training
The School of Medicine, specifically the Community Health Advancement Program (CHAP), School of Nursing, and School of Dentistry are teaming up again this year on the Teeth & Toes Clinic! In order to participate in Teeth & Toes at any point this 2016-2017 year, all student providers must participate in this interdisciplinary training.
The two-hour training will be held on October 17, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in T-439.
You will learn the skills necessary to conduct proficient foot care and oral exams, in addition to health education techniques and strategies for encouraging positive health behaviors by low-income clients. Students who participate in Teeth & Toes develop a toolkit of both clinical and health promotion skills for working with the homeless community, for whom quality foot and oral care can be a potential life-saver.
This training is required to participate in any Teeth & Toes Events or CHAP Foot Care Clinics at DESC, Mary's Place, ROOTS, or our newest community partner, Chief Seattle Club.
