    09/27/2016 CHAP Derm Clinic Training

    6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
    Room TBA

We invite you to an event for students interested in participating in the Community Health Advancement Program (CHAP) Dermatology Clinic. This event also welcomes anyone interested in the healthcare needs of Seattle's homeless population, those with a specific interest in dermatology, and any student looking to sharpen their clinical skills!

This will be an orientation to the Community Health Advancement Program (CHAP) Derm Clinic serving clients at the Downtown Emergency Service Center emergency shelter. Learn about working with the community served by DESC, and addressing the common, yet often overlooked dermatological conditions, prevalent in the homeless community in Seattle.

This training is required for anyone wishing to volunteer at the Derm Clinic this year. You will hear more about the logistics of the volunteering processes at the training.

    *Information about CHAP Derm Clinic*
Skin problems are common in the homeless community, but often go untreated due to a variety of economic and social factors. Students initiated this project in collaboration with DESC and the Pioneer Square Clinic based an unmet need of this population. Care is delivered by two medical student teams, each consisting of a pre-clinical (1st or 2nd year) student and a clinical (3rd or 4th year) student. The teams are precepted by a volunteer attending physician.

Please RSVP. *Food will be provided*
